It is easy to think that we can’t do anything that really matters in missions

We may think this way because our church isn’t large or because the needs are so vast. One writer calls it "the paralysis of overwhelming need". Because we can’t do everything we sometimes do nothing. The truth is that every church, regardless of size, can participate in missions in ways that reap significant, eternal results.

We at Asian Outreach Australia have an idea. This idea allows us to help you to accomplish your goals as a church leader to inspire your people, to inform and involve your people in God’s work globally, particularly in Asia, where our goal at Asian Outreach is to "Win Asians for Christ".

The average Australian believer has up to eight (8) or more bibles in their possession.

Our aim is to bring awareness of how blessed we are to have so many copies of God’s Word.

The goal

• Bringing a healthy awareness of how blessed we are to have so many Bibles in Australia.
• Challenge the participants to give four ($4) dollars for every Bible they find in their homes to the Word4Word campaign, so that a Chinese Bible can be placed in the hands of a Chinese Christian and five others can come to the Lord

How it happens

Sunday 1
People receive a response form (on the enclosed DVD or we can email you the form or post you a hard copy), encouraging them to go home and count the Bibles , including new testaments, partial copies and electronic versions in their homes.

The DVD is shown at this service, and the people are challenged " Can we, the congregation, give four dollars for every Bible we have found in our houses?"

Sunday 2
The response forms are returned this Sunday and placed in the offering. The numbers are then totalled and the congregation advised of how many Bibles the Church will be sending to China and how many non believers will come to know Christ through their efforts.

Getting started

• Review the enclosed material in the kit.
• Pre-plan the event, with either yourself doing the event or appoint a person to head the event. Pick the dates to run the event.
• Use the promotional material provided and watch this exciting event unfold with your congregation.
• Post the forms and money back to Asian Outreach Australia.
